MG6 to Start Production at Birmingham site on April 13, Prices Start from £15,495

The fastback version of the all-new MG6 will soon become MG Motor's first all-new model to pass through the gates of the firm's Longbridge factory in 16 years. The last time MG showed a brand new model was in 1995 with the MG F, a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive roadster. According to the British automaker, the first series production model will roll off the assembly line on April 13, 2011 at precisely 11:00 am. MG Motors, which now belongs under the umbrella of China's Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) group, will follow up with a sedan version of the MG6 this summer. Both the four-door saloon and the five-door fastback will be offered with a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that's good enough for 160 ponies and 215Nm of peak torque at 1750-4500 rpm. The MG6 fastback returns a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) sprint time of 8.4 seconds while the British automaker says "top speed is electronically limited to 120mph [193 km/h]" without giving any further explanations. For the time being, the MG6 will be sold exclusively in the UK with the fastback model being available in six colors (Burnt Orange, Pitch Black, Regal Red, Union Blue, Granite Grey, Platinum Silver, Arctic White and Champagne Gold) and three trim levels: MG6 S - £15,495; MG6 SE - £16,995 and MG6 TSE - £18,995. An Insane 900HP Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

Why would someone want to upgrade a 451HP Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG remains a mystery to us, but the following car is a good example of the level of performance a C63 AMG can reach with the right aftermarket parts and some very deep pockets. Two years ago, owner Keith Brantley got in touch with aftermarket specialist Modern Horsepower (MHP) and ordered a complete transformation of hia C63 AMG. The result is the "Red Brown Arrow", allegedly the fastest C63 AMG in the world. The car sports MHP's Stage 3CMR Package, which means the car is completely modified mechanically. The reworked naturally-aspirated V8 engine develops 652 horsepower and 595 lb-ft of torque (807 Nm), a gain of 201HP and 152 lb-ft (206 Nm) over the stock car. Add to that a nitrous oxide system that lifts maximum power to 900HP and the result is a C63 AMG that can do a 1/4 mile in 10.41 seconds with an exit speed of 135.27 mph (218 km/h). This was achieved on March 25 at the Maryland International Raceway, with only a 125HP shot of nitrous. On the record run, the car went from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.04 seconds and from 0 to 100 mph (160km/h) in 6.19 seconds. Furthermore, the 60 to 130 mph time was 6.59 seconds, 1.2 seconds faster than a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Among the Red Brown Arrow's "victims" are a Corvette ZR-1 and a Porsche Carrera GT at the Top Gun Run standing mile event. One would think that the owner should be pleased with a supercar-beating C63 AMG. Well, he is, except he wants to "complete the package with some cams, better tires & wheels, and slightly larger nitrous jets and hopefully set the bar a little higher next time out." Ram Unveils New 1500 Express Pickup Truck for Younger, First-Time Buyers

Ram's new version of the 1500 pickup truck, formerly known under the code name the "Adventurer", has finally received an official designation. The RAM 1500 Express targets younger customers and first-time buyers and comes with a starting price of $23,830 (€16,677), including a $975 destination charge. The TRUCK is fitted with a standard 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that delivers 390 horsepower and 407 lb-ft of torque (552 Nm) and posts an average fuel economy rating of 20 mpg (11.76 l/100km). Available as a regular cab short-bed model, with either a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain, the 1500 Express comes in a monochromatic paint scheme, with body-colored grille, front fascia and rear fascia and a total of eight body colors available. A grille with black honeycomb inserts, chrome-tipped dual exhausts, fog lamps and five-spoke 20-inch aluminum wheels are also part of the package. Standard features include a locking tailgate, 160-amp alternator, 26-gallon fuel tank, 3.55 rear axle ratio, 700-amp battery, heavy-duty front and rear shock absorbers, power steering, heavy-duty engine and transmission cooling and a full-size spare tire. The interior of the 1500 Express gets a heavy-duty vinyl 40/20/40 split-bench seat, with buyers being able to choose between vinyl or carpeted floor covering. Other features include air conditioning, 12-volt auxiliary power outlet, six-speaker audio unit with CD and MP3 player, automatic headlamps, behind-the-seat storage bins, power accessory delay and tinted glass windows. Safety equipment includes front, side and curtain airbags, ABS, ESP and tire pressure warning lamp. The options list is extensive and includes two rear-axle ratios (3.21, 3.92), anti-spin differential, engine block heater, trailer brake controller, Mopar chrome tubular side steps, Mopar chrome steel bed rails, folding and heated trailer-tow power mirrors, spray-in bedliner and under-rail bedliner. For the interior, buyers can outfit the 1500 Express with a cloth split-bench seat, Uconnect voice command with Bluetooth, remote USB port, cruise control, remote keyless entry and a Sirius Satellite Radio.
